Feature Project – Renovation

This was a whole house renovation project in which the client wanted a very open and light filled design, as well as creating spaces for family gatherings. The project was done in phases, so a plan was created to allow the projects to interface seamlessly.

We started with enlarging and totally renovating the kitchen, as well as turning a screened porch into a year-round sunny dining room.

The basement was redesigned next, installing oak flooring, a half bathroom and a custom entertainment center, allowing ample room for family and friends to gather.

After the front of the house was bumped out twelve feet, a spacious great room was created with an expanse of windows capturing solar gain and a center stone fireplace.  The extra space also allowed for enlarging the master bedroom with a master bath addition.

The renovation included all new windows, doors, siding, and a roof. The superior insulation upgrade exceeds the new Vermont energy codes.
