Avoid costly foundation problems
Foundation problems is a scary term to hear when you are a homeowner. Whether you’re a new home owner or a season one identifying possible foundation problems is extremely important and could save you a lot of money in the long run. Many homes have a few small cracks in their basement walls from the settling of the foundation and the weight of the house. In a stable home, the small cracks don’t get any bigger – they’re safe. If you notice they are getting bigger, however, you’ll save a ton of money by getting the problem addressed now rather than later.
Monitoring these cracks is easy. Take some masking tape and cover up the end of any cracks you notice inside or outside, and write the date on the tape. Then, check the tape a few months later, if you notice a change in size you might have a problem and should call a specialist before the problem gets out of hand.
